Grids and the Culturally/Psychologically Significant Photo
Check back for 2020 Dates (no session 2019)    9:45 to 5:30 PM

Shoenfeld Santa Fe Studio
Approved for 7 CEU's $175

With the repetitive structure of the grid as a basis, participants will create a series of images in response to a psychologically and/or culturally significant photo.  Including "cultural" issues in this workshop is an addition as of 2018. This is in response to the major upheavals we have experienced related to immigration, funding for services, etc.

As the image is repeated, perceptions and visual boundaries shift. A variety of media will be offered for this evocative and creative investigation of how memory and imagination alter perception and imagery. No previous art experience required. We will work through lunch with a few short breaks, for snacks and beverages: remember to bring your lunch!

The Creative Process - Winter Cycle and Spring Cycle (two separate sessions)

Jane Shoenfeld Santa Fe Studio

Explore how winter affects your energy, insights and creativity. For some, the crisp, chilly air inspires the excitement of crystalline clarity. For others, the darkenss and cold of winter evokes experiences of loss.  Utilizing expressive art and writing, learn more about how the winter cycle is reflected in the psyche as part of personal growth and change. The environment that has evolved after our elections can be seen as part of a cycle, the endless dark and cold of winter.  Ways that we can work with this will also be part of this workshop.
